Best way to help pain of a I was diagnosed with a Bakers
cyst today in the ER. I dont'
have insurance now so I want
to hold out on my appointment
with a orthopedic doctor. I
was going to try some home
treatments for now.

Ice, antiinflammatory medication (e.g. Ibuprofin) and elevation. Vote for Obama and hopefully the poor U. S. will get on board with the rest of the developed world with universal health care. |

I am still in pain after a only knowlegable people answer
- i am done with suggestions.
Have had TKR and now a bakers
cyst and i can hardly walk
with the pain - I have 2
opinions from Ortho surgeons
and they will not drain it.
what happens now? i do not
want to live with this pain
and limping any longer - I am
at my wits end!

I would recommend consulting another orthopedic surgeon for a 3rd opinion and when you go let them know how much this thing hurts. Let them know when you tell them how much it hurts that you can't continue like this. I don't know where your baker's cyst is located but if it's on the foot I would recommend try getting an opinion from a Podiatrist (a doctor that diagnoses and treats diseases, disorders, and conditions such as cysts-when on the foot) to see what they say. |

Anyone been treated for a and is your knee okay now.
Partner has one and he gets
agonising pain from it but
it's an 18 week waiting list
just to see a consultant so
he's on heavy duty painkiilers
to ease his discomfort.

In the meantime a cortisone injection might help relieve inflammation and/or the cyst/fluid may need to be drained. For this your GP can help. |
