Is it safe to file for divorce I found the Oklahoma Divorce
Online web site. It is only
198 dollars to file through
them...plus my court costs
here in my county. I have the
money and would like to start
the process. It seems easy to
do from home. Is this a smart
move or should I just go get
the papers and do it myself by
hand?
if so...where do I go to get
the papers? My county clerks
office gave me NO information
on Divorce. They couldn't even
point me in the right
direction!

You don't always need a lawyer, its a common misconception. You only need a lawyer if its a contested divorce. I used an online document prep company. I filled out the questionnaire they gave me, and their paralegals prepared my divorce papers for me. I then filed them and served a copy to my spouse and finished the process. It went quite smoothly and would recommend it. |
