Questions/Answers
disney world orlando florida around Christmas?
I am planning to go to Disney World around the 19th through the 25th of december. Is it really crowded and are the water rides still open? Is it too cold to do water rides?
Yes it will be crowded, but at least you don't have to deal with the heat! The water rides are still open. I don't know where you will be coming from. You may think it's warm enough to do them with the possibility of getting wet. I live here so I think it's freezing! I hope you have a great time!
One of the busiest weeks at Disney is during those times. Yes, water rides should be open. They usually turn off the extra water nozzles that soak you in wet rides like Splash mountain. I would do water rides in the afternoon so you can dry off while the sun is still out.. it can get chilly in the evening, Also get to the parks early.
it will be EXTREMEMLY CROWDED. dec 21st to jan 1st is the busiest time of the year with the 2 most crowded days being xmas day and new years eve. the water park typhoon lagoon will be closed for refurbishment but blizzard beach water park will remain open. and the weather is nice for the most part. highs around 72 and lows around 51. its mostly sunny all day with little rain in december. and they heat all pools in disney world to 82 degrees so unless its an unusually chilly day they will keep the water park open. and personally i think its nice weather to swim in and not to hard to take with the warm water. are you planning on staying on disney property if so sorry to tell you but you most likely won't find a hotel that has a room around that time especially since its the busiest time disney world has. i booked my vacation in the begining of july and only got a room at the hotel i wanted cuz someone had just cancelled a trip that was for the same dates that i wanted and at the same hotel. i'd go to the disney website and check availability for the hotel you want to stay at and you can customize your trip completely and price it and there is no obligation to book it. http://disneyworld.disney.go.c om/wdw/index good luck and have fun!
It should be crowded. It shouldn't be TOO cold though....
It will be very crowded over the holidays. We went over the holidays last year and we used a service to do our itinerary and touring plans and they were awesome. We never waited more than 15 minutes for any ride even on New Year's Day! If you are going during the busy times, I highly recommend Custom Mouse Plans!
I don't know if they have the water rides open anymore, in the past they did not. The temperature is great right now, anywhere from like 60-75 in the middle of the day. It will probably drop down to 60ish for Christmas, sometimes colder, sometimes hotter. The weather is crazy here. You never know! If the water rides are open though, the water here gets cold in the winter. My pool right now feels like ice water and it is 75 degrees outside. It will be very busy during Christmas time! Have to go in the off season if you want to get on more rides and not wait up to 2 hours each ride. Have a good vacation though.
It is one of the busiest times of the year. Your still in Florida so the temperatures aren't too cold so the water rides stay open. If those are the only dates avaliable for you to go on I would go on the 19th. The longer you wait the more kids are out of school and the more people that will be there. Also make sure you maximize your trip by doing things like being there when the park opens and properly using fast passes.
