credit card application still pending?
i applied for a credit card 5
days ago, my credit alert
shows that a credit report was
pulled so i called the credit
card company to check on the
status of the
application...the rep told me
it shows that it is still in
process and if it was declined
he would know but to call back
in the next 3 days and they
would have more information on
the status ...MY QUESTION IS
THIS
1-DOES THIS MEANS I WAS NOT
APPROVED
2-My score is 636 and i have 1
derogatory item on my report
that i am disputing and 2
deliquent items that has been
paid for
3 WHAT CHANCE DO I HAVE BASED
ON THIS ....cos it seems they
are stll trying to decide
whether to offer me credit or
not
PLEASE HELP
please help as i feel i need
to wait longer in order to be
able to qualify ..forgot to
mention i have a secured card
with 300 limit for the past 5
months
i am actually applying for a
chase bank credit card

636 credit score is not great but its not horrible either. it depends on what credit card youre trying to get because some are really strick on credit history..and it depends on the amount and the interest rate of the card.. |

Credit score is only one factor. Banks usually will not tell you if you were turned down over the phone. It starts a long discussion with no pay off for the bank. They still have to advise you in writing, by law. Trust me, they are siitng behind a closed door in a committee trying to decide if they want you as a credit customer. They have decided and it is probably 50/50 at this time. So by the time this post expires, you'll have your answer. |
