What is your car insurance responsibility to a thief's blood in your car?
My car was broken into and the insurance company wants me to drive the car while the thief's blood is still in it. The areas are being replaced - inner door, glove compartment hood, leather seat - The parts take 3 weeks to get in and they wont pay for my rental car (I DO have rental insurance with them.) while the car is just sitting there waiting for the parts to come in.
ick, have you reported the seat destroyed as well as the rest of the damage?
Why don't you have an attourney write them a letter discussing their rental insurance. You need to read your policy very carefully as well as the rental insurance part to see under what conditions that they will have to pay for a rental.
They have an obligation to provide you with a rental while your car is being repaired. Contact your local Insurance commissioner and/or the consumer protection people. Or have your lawyer contact the Insurance company and make some "waves".
It depends on the policy. That blood is a bio hazard and you should not drive it till it has been removed. Remind them that the health department would not recommend you be exposed and that this technically makes the car undriveable. A site I've recommended in the past would be... http://insurance.123thebest.in fo/ Hope that helps.
