Car Insurance?
So I got my license the other
day I'm 16 turning 17. I don't
have a car yet, but I want to
drive alone. My mom has a car
but my name isin't included in
the policy. I heard somewhere
that I could still drive the
car. Is that true? How much
would it cost if my name is
added to the car? the car is
on AAA Insurance.? . Another
question. Im going to be
working soon, how much would
it cost for a 17 year old to
drive his own car with his own
insurance, BUT if im added to
my DAD's policy.?
Oh yeah my dad has i think
about 3 cars on his policy.
more info. OK. I live in
Southern
california.(oceanside) 94'
4runner toyota.
that car is on his policy
already.

Get on your dad's plan. Buy an inexpensive car and carry only liability. You will save a lot of money that way. Later you can get something nicer. |

no you cannot drive if you aren't on the insurance policy you would have to ask your dad's insurance company, just call and ask............where you live makes a huge difference, you could pay as much as $50-$100 a month on insurance plus gas.........the price of the car you get ( new or used) and the maintenance it needs ....oil change every 3000 miles and whatever breaks down if it's a used car..A CAR IS NOT CHEAP....get a bicycle if you live in a city |

You are on your moms policy if you live with her,the insurance will charge you against the most expensive vehicle whether your driving it or not you still live in the same household. There is always that chance you will drive the best car in the house. So their premiums will always go up. Usually if your parents get a sworn affidavid from a magistraite or a judge stating you won't drive their cars [ If you have your own car] and you have your own insurance They might be left to pay their own premiums. There is no cheap way out.there is no better result on your dad's policy.By the way your mom is taking a real chance not telling the insurance co your driving on her policy .when they find out they could drop her ,then insurance could be more the next time she goes for it |
