What is the worst stereotype What stereotype have you heard
about a dog breed that is
completely untrue and stupid?
I hear people saying things
all the time about poodles and
how they are snobs, which is
so untrue! My poodle is smart
and fun and very silly! Not at
all snobby, nor are there any
poofs on him! People should
get their facts straight
before judging any breed! So
what stereotypes have you
heard about a specific breed
or dogs in general that is
untrue?

That designer dogs are chic. Truth is, they're mixed breed accidents. |

pit bull being aggressive and turning on people. a dog is as good as it is raised and trained. or as bad. I have known more people to be bit by Labs than any other dog. also that unless the dog is pure bred with papers than it is a bad dog. I had a pure bred mutt once that actually saved my sisters life and protecting my son from another dog that was a pure bred lab he attacted my son in my moms yard we don't know whos dog he was but he came over to my moms and jumped on my son and started biting him my moms mutt jumped in and tore the dog off had it not been for my moms mutt that was half coyote by the way my son would have been in the hospital as I was clear acrass the yard and would not have made it to him in time. |

i hate ppl talking about pitbulls just snaping out of nowhere they have to have a reason when they snap i know they're aggresive but not like ppl put them to be.... |

Mutts are smarter/healthier/easier to train Poodles/poodle mixes are allergy-free/dander-free Doberman's brains never stop growing, causing them to snap at their owners. Pit bulls are inherently vicious Need I go on? |

Big dogs are meaner. Small dogs are nicer. Only snobby people buy from show breeders, you don't need to do that for pets. Labs are the perfect dog for everyone. Pit bulls aren't good for anyone. |

to be honest i always had an impression that poodles tend to be a little more nervous and and more full of them selves then most breeds.but like i said, its just an impression. i will have to defend boxers, pit bulls, and basset hounds boxers are always judged by they tough look, but they r loving dogs, and very very careful and gentle with kids all i hear about pit bulls and Staford terriers is that they are killers and have thurst for blood, but the truth is, REPUTABLE breeders have turned them into beautiful family dogs. basset hounds are victims of unfair judgment by people who r telling they are stupid. basset are not stupid. they are very very smart dog, and my dog, had trick videos on u tube when she was only 3 months old. she is now doing things that even german shepard would be ashamed of.numerous videos are on u tube posted by people who have done wonders with basset and they all crap in the face to those who think bassets are dumb dogs. |

the worst stereotypes I have heard is that "certain dogs are Hypo-allergenic" When the is no such thing, All dogs and cats will cause allergies to act up but some not as bad as others Dander,hair/fur,saliva,and mucus are the 4 main allergy makers |

Pitts will turn on their owners at the age of 2. Rotts are demon dogs. Some dogs have fur some have hair(one of my favorites) You can't spay a dog before her first heat. That their are Hypoallergenic dogs. wow there are a bunch more but I can't think |

OMG... that pit bulls have a locking jaw! Or anything negative for that matter in regards to Pits. Give me a break! All dogs are a representation of their owners. |
