What is a typical middle Well, the office people made a
mistake and instead of sending
our letters last week, were
getting them next week. My
school starts September 2nd
and I need to know the dress
code for when I go shopping
tomorrow. Please explain!

things like... no belly shirts, spagetti strap tank tops, short shorts, pants/shorts with writting on the butt, no low cut shirts. |

it's different for all schools. mine is khaki or dress pants with a polo or sweater. most of them just include jeans and tops, though. most schools don't allow tank-tops of flip-flops, though. |

fingertip length shorts, skirts, etc. have to have sleeves on your shirt so no tank tops. your midriff cant be showing. |

ok. put ur arms down straight while standing up, thats pretty much as long as skirts go. no showing cleavage. im not sure. thats what my friends tell me. i go to a catholic private school |

No flip flops...no tank tops...nothing revealing.. nothing see though..no saggy pants... all bottoms have to be below the fingertips...to halter tops..no hats...Thats about it.... |

1. Clothing styles that reveal underwear garments are not considered appropriate for school. 2. Bare midriff blouses and shirts are not acceptable. Clothing that is transparent, exposes the midriff, and exposes the naval or that is a décolleté garment is not acceptable. 3. Hats, bandanas, and athletic sweatbands are not acceptable. Headbands may be worn to hold hair out of your eyes but not as a form of group membership. 4. Coats are not to be worn in the building. Keep a sweatshirt or a sweater in your locker for your personal comfort. 5. Form fitting shorts or pants are not acceptable. An appropriate length would be skirts and/or shorts that at least touch the tips of extended fingers when the arms are down. 6. Tank tops are not appropriate. The cut of sleeveless garments should not reveal underwear. Strapless, backless, halter/tube tops and spaghetti straps should not be worn. 7. Spiked jewelry worn as necklaces or bracelets and clothing with spiked studs are considered a hazard. Also, chains hanging from clothing can be a hazard and should not be worn. 8. Appropriate footwear should be worn at all times during the school day. Students using crutches should wear sturdy shoes. 9. Any clothes that advertise drugs, alcohol or offensive language are not permitted. 10. Ragged, holey or cut off clothing are not acceptable. 11. Sunglasses are not acceptable. 12. Clothing that displays symbols of intolerance to race, creed or sexual identity are prohibited. |

Ok. Probably if you are going to wear tank tops they have to be wide straps, not spaghetti. And no really short shorts or skirts. Put your hands down to your sides. Where your middle finger hits is the shortest you should go. No really low cut tops either. |

usually no ripped or torn jeans thats for middle and high school. no offensive language on shirts, nothing gang or alcohol related shirts. some schools dont even let you wear band shirts, but mine does. no chains hanging from clothing. shorts have to be usually 3 inches above the knee at the shortest, NO SHORT SHORTS no spaghetti straps, they can get away with it in high school sometimes but probably not middle school. tank tops should be at least 3 fingers wide on the straps. no cleavage tops...please your in middle school for gods sake. |

its kind of like many dress codes no skin is exposed sleeveless shirts have to be 3 fingers wide my school didn't allow us to ware flip-flops but I don't know what yours may be, but shorts and skirts should go to your fingertips at least....well I really hope this helps. GOOD LUCK !!!! |

I felt like my middle school dress code was lame, I just finished 8th grade. Well anyways for girls it kinda went like this: -No cleavage, no mid section showing, no undergarments showing, no extreme holes in jeans above knees, no flimsy flip flops, skirts and shorts have to touch your fingers when you stand arms on sides, slits on skirts and shorts can only be 2 inches, shirt sleeves have to be at least 2 fingers wide, no chains... That's what I can remember. |

My shoulders have to be covered, my tops have to overlap my bottoms, my bottoms have to ba @ least the length if i put my arms @ my side, no studded jewelery or porno, no dog tags, or swear words(duh) on the shirts, etc. shoes must have a sole. No cutoff jeans either. One More thing , your bra strap cannot be hanging out and no clevage BTW I took that and copied it into my own words off the list that i have in front of me right now. (i only took the stuff 4 the girls) |

No short shorts- you can check by standing up tall and putting your hands at your sides and if they go below your shorts they are too short, same with skirts. Also, no spaghetti straps or tank tops. They don't really like you to show off your shoulders for some reason. Most schools don't like when they can see your bra straps. No cleavage, even though my school doesn't really yell at people who show a little. Umm no shirts with any relations to drugs, sex, alcohol, or anything that you don't think would be school appropriate, use your head. Obviously no hats. That's about it. Have fun shopping and get some awesome outfits!!! :D |

if u go to a public school its probably no spaghetti straps(at my school they have to be 2 or 3 fingers wide) skirts and shorts have to be past ur finger tips when u put ur arms at ur sides no belly shirts(duh!) and like no rllly low cut shirts |

Ok, I left middle school so: No tank tops No short Shorts No Mini Skirts (without leggings) No Metal chains No Cleavage showing They dont favor high heels too much (2 inches or they might keep their eye on you) No long bracelets which might make a lot of noise when writing. Thats about it. Thank god it isnt uniform! I hope you have fun in middle school |

In my middle school, the only rule that was continuously enforced was that the girls bra-strap couldn't be showing on their shoulder. Other than that, i saw a WHOLE lot of extremely short skirts and shorts, and a WHOLE lot of wannabe-cleavage. Don't stress over it. |
