Why did President Bush push through the partial nationalization of american financial sector?
and I hear that other industries are in trouble also like the auto industry and they too might need nationalization. Why did presidnt Bush moving this country down the socialization path? According to the definiton I see in books, encyclopedias and dictionaries..socialism is the nationalization of industries and govt seeking to own the means of prodution. Bingo !! exactly what is happening now under the Bush plan. So why is President Bush ushering us down the path of socialism ??
I really don't have any information on that. Currently the only thing I could say is that he saw a situation that was getting out of control for the credit markets and decided to take action in the interest of the people. Though we know how good intentions and bad information has gone for the people here over the last few years. I think that's still up for investigations.
he must be a socialist.
"Nationalization of industry . . ." I'm sorry. Maybe I missed it when CNN broke the story that AIG, Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac were going to become goverment agencies, appropriated by the Department of the Treasury. Because THAT is what "nationalization of industry" means, you know. Wait, what? The government DIDN'T take those companies over? Oh, then it's not socialism. * * * * * " . . . Government seeking to own the means of production . . ." Holy smokes! They're trying to own the production of . . . the production of . . . Wait, what do those companies produce anyway? Besides credit debt, I mean. Wait, that's it! They produce debt! Like a big, government savings & loan, right? Like a huge, national . . . centralized . . . bank! Yeah! Almost like the Federal Reser . . . Oh.
