Why do people care more about whenever i go on cnn.com
britney spears or another
celebrity is the most popular
story. wtf...isn't it the
news? can't people read their
crappy people magazines and
keep it out of stuff that is
important?

Because people are always interested in people whose lives are more screwed up than they perceive THEIRS to be. Same type of people who always slow down at the scene of traffic accidents or who patronize websites like rotten.com. |

Because in this world, people are overly obsessed with "celebrities". It's very pathetic if you ask me. You don't see the headline "Children in Africa starving", instead you see "Britney spears ran a red light!". It's sick. |

This is just how the world and technology is... Personaly, I don't like BS (hahaha that also stands 4 something else) but her life is just more amusing the the real world. |

I pay no attention to celebrity news. The only time I will ever bother to read a news article about Britney Spears is if it's her obituary. She is a pathetic waste of space, it sickens me We Americans are like mushrooms, feed us shit and keep us in the dark. Knowledge is power. |

Some people could careless about a rich brat whose life exemplifies a spoiled life. This sells newspapers, magazine, and TV airtime. However it is important for us to demand that there be changes in media coverages to the important issues out there like Iraq. The only way to do this is in the network's pocketbooks and by sending letters and emails to let the media know we are not going to take this crap anymore. |

I dont' think we care about Spears story more than the war. The Iraq war is always flooded with reports, and it is also and highly conterversial. Yep, Spears and her gang get far too much press. I think it's because people are enamored by stars and interested in the antics. However, like you I am sick of seeing her face on TV. I wish they would keep her story in the tabloids as you mentioned! Good idea! |
