How did the Nazis view Jews I'm Jewish and a lot of people
in my family including myself
have the "Jewish look" I guess
you could say. But my daughter
for example has very blonde
hair and blue eyes and fair
skin but she is my biological
daughter and she's completely
Jewish. How did the Nazis view
Jews who looked very Aryan?
Was there any exceptions for
Jews who looked very Aryan?
Would she be treated just like
any other Jew and killed
immediately or would she be
treated any differently
because of her looks?

A Jew was a Jew. Looks were irrelevant to Nazis. Even people with partial Jewish backgrounds were considered to be Jews and treated the same. |

Believe it or not, Hitler made an exception for "half-Jews" who looked "Aryan" and had served as officers in the German military with distinction in World War I. He personally examined their photographs and records, and personally signed papers stating that they were "Aryans" and could be commissioned as officers again in World War II. I recently read a book called Hitler's Jewish Soldiers by Bryan Mark which included copies of the papers with Hitler's signatures. I am not in this answer stating that I agree or disagree with this policy, although I hope it saved a few lives. Anything that saved a life during those horrible times, so long as it did not take another life, is fortunate. |

As with anything there were exceptions. However, these were usually reserved for people who weren't "fully" Jewish and could serve Germany. As a child and a girl, she would have been sent with you to a death camp. Her only hope of survival would have been in the care of a sympathetic orphanage (willing to forge documents) or by obtaining forged documents for her and leaving her in the care of an "Aryan" friend. |

The same as other Jews - they were all marked for extermination. Under the Nuremberg Laws of 1935, a Jew was defined as anyone who had 3 or more Jewish grandparents.This was the ONLY criterion for deciding who was Jewish and who wasn't; what an individual looked like, or even what religion they actually practiced, had nothing to do with whether or not a person was considered Jewish. |
